Know your STIs

What is it?

Trichomoniasis (or “Trich”, pronounced “trick”) is an STI caused by a parasite. Some people with a trich infection experience itchiness or burning in the genital region, pain during urination, an increased volume of vaginal discharge or vaginal discharge that is white, yellowish, or greenish with a fishy odor, while others experience no symptoms.

How does someone get it?

You can get trichomoniasis by having vaginal sex with someone who has trichomoniasis. Barriers, such as condoms and dental dams, can prevent trichomoniasis transmission.

How can it be treated?

Trich can be cured with antibiotics.
