What is it?
Gonorrhea is an STI caused by bacteria. Some people experience an abnormal vaginal discharge or a burning sensation when peeing, but often there are no symptoms. Left untreated it can cause long term complications including infertility.
How does someone get it?
You can get gonorrhea by having vaginal, oral, or anal sex with someone who has gonorrhea. Barriers, such as condoms and dental dams, can prevent gonorrhea transmission.
How can it be cured?
Gonorrhea can be cured with antibiotics.
